I take great pleasure in congratulating you and your staff and employees at the Dabhol Power Project on the recent achievements of working 1 million (1,000,000) consecutive man-hours without incurring a job related lost time, accident or injury.

This significant milestone is attributed to the cooperation and determination on behalf of all of the U.B. Engineering employees at this project in their attempt to meet the stringent Bechtel "Zero Accident" program.

As in a previous letter written to you, commending you and your staff on their achievements on this site, I must again commend Mr. A.N. Pani, your Site Construction Manager, and Mr. S.K. Joshi, Site Safety representative, for working together and making safety a part of each and every task your employees undertake. They have demonstrated their allegiance to create and maintain a safe workplace, provided the proper and necessary safety equipment, and continuously trained and informed their subordinates in the latest developments and changes here at our project.

This is to confirm that we awarded the Mechanical, Installation and Erection works of the 208 MW Godavari Gas Combined Cycle Power Project at Kakinada to M/s UB Engineering Ltd., Pune. They have undertaken following works on our behalf.

1) Unloading and transporation of Power Plant material including Heavy packages.
2) Fabrication and Erection of Canopy structures.
3) Mechanical Installation work of the following :
    i) 3 Nos. Heat Recovery Steam Generators & Auxiliaries
    ii) 3 Nos. 47 MW Gas Turbines and Auxiliaries
    iii) 1 No. 67 MW Steam Turbines and Auxiliaries.
4) Fabrication and Erection of HP and LP Piping systems.
5) Erection of Stacks and Insulation.
6) Instrumentation, Erection and Piping.

The performance of UB Engineering was excellent and matched International standards. The site team was competent using computerised Planning and Monitoring and was well backed up by Head Office Management support. The team headed by the Project Manager, Mr. Mohan Hegde was totally dedicated and they have completed the work in a professional safe and workman like manner to our satisfaction.

We wish to put on record that UB Engineering achieved most milestones on or before mutually agreed dates and earned themselves completion bonuses.

We have no hesitation in recommending UB Engineering Ltd., to undertake similar works.

This is to certify that Ms UB Engineering Limited has been engaged for execution of various projects at hot strip mill , slab caster ,EOT cranes for LD 2 . Coal injection system ,torpedo ladle car,mix gas pipingfor hot strip mll,RH Degassing unit ,Desulpharisation Plant etc since the year 1991.

In addition of the above jobs ,UBEL had also been entrusted with various periodical shutdown and maintenance jobs inside the Tisco Works apart from the major 18 days shut down at hot Strip Mill.

These shut down activities requires deployment of huge resources along with capable & skilled technical and administrative personnels on the part of the contractor and it was the greatest effort put on by UBEL'S team at Jamshedpur that they could execute these critical shutdown and maintenance jobs with fruitful results .

We would take the pleasure to state that UBEL has proved their outstanding eficiency in the field of construction in our steel sector by our virtue of construction equipments ,skilled manpower and decisive management policies .In the field of safety ,UBEL was one of our foremost contractors with adequate safety precautions.

This is to certify that we had awarded construction of 600MW Gas Combined Cycle Power Project at Gandhar (Jhanor) to Ms UB Engineering Ltd , Pune which they successfully completed.

The detailed scope of work awarded to Ms UB Engineering Ltd . was follows:

Erection of HRSG Modules	8,000 MTs (Total 72 Modules)
Erection of equipments	1,638MTs
Piping work	1,044MTs
Fabrication &Erection of Structure	1,832MTs
Insulation	18,000 Sq Mtrs
Painting	24,120 Sq Mtrs

Furthur ,Fabication and erection of the following
Alloy Steel By-pass stack : 506MTs
Ms WHRB stack : 890MTs

Was also awarded to them through our Consortium Partner, M/s Kawaski Heavy Industries , Japan .

We are glad to mention that UB Engineering Ltd .with their experianced ,qualified supervisory staff and trained manpower ,successfully completed the work in their scope on schedule . The plant is running successfully at the rated capacity for last two years .

M/s UBEL made a record of achieving installation of 5 Nos .Modules weighing between 100 and 150 MTs. In a single day. This was possible due to dedicated efforts of M/s UBEL team at site.

We recommend M/s UB Engg. Ltd for awarding similar kind of work and wish them all success in future projects.

This is to certify that M/s UB Engineering Ltd . Pune was awarded the fabricaion and ereection work of 2 X 500MW (SG + ESP ) at NTPC , Farakka Super Thermal Power Project by M/s Ansaldo (Italy) , the Principal Contractor for this package .

The total quantum of work was aprox . 10,000 MT of Fabrication and 51,450 MT of Equipment Erection . M/s .UB Engineering Ltd . , achieved progress level of 15,505 MT of Equipment Erection and 7000 MT . of fabrication in a year with a maximum monthly production of 700 MT. of Fabrication and 2,280 MT. of Erection.

The Fabrication and Erection work started in August , 1988 and January ,1989 respectively and completed according to the site schedules .

The work of M/s UBEL eas found to be satisfactory and their efforts to carry out the above job with required resources are appreciable .

Dear Mr. Shevde,

I was informed by your Mr S.K. Bhattacharya that you have taken over control of UBEL since April 1997. He had also promised to bring you one day to this site which we were all eagerly looking forward . How ever I can understand with yiur busy pre-occupation , a visit to this far end place cannot easily materialise.If possible during one of my tours , I hope to meet you at pune .

Our plant has attained mechanical completion some time back and is currently under commissioning . If everything goes well ,Ammonia is expected by third week of this month. . Here I would like to convey my appreciation for UBEL 's role in our project . Your boys have done a very good professional job . Your site team was working very hard under the leadership of Mr. G.K.Nathan , Project Manager and was delivering quite satisfactorily without comprosing on quality . In fact in the beginning we had some apprehension regarding your capacity to undertake such a major job which of course was partly due to having had no contact with UBEL until that time . Today in retrospect we have no regrets over the selection we have made . Eventhough UBEL started only in the piping front in this project , subsequently we awarded the Catalyst loading work also to them . Lastly I should not hesitate to convey that there was always adequate support and co-operation from your Corporate Office and in particular from Mr .S.K.Bhattacharya.

Another point which should not be left out is the fact that you have consumed over a million manhours in the project throughout the entire period and UBEL was successful in avoiding any sort of labour unrest which indeed is a creditable achievement to you and your team.

We certainly look forward to further interaction with UBEL in the coming years.
